Chapter - 3 Found someone to take care of me

In fact, before Shouko woke up, the man had already talked to Leon.

“Yo, Falco, here's your food of the week”
“Ooh, here's this week's quarry.”
“Thanks always. I will surely transport it to guild”
“By the way, check this out.”

Falco invited Leon to join him a bit. He's rarely talkative, and not one to talk in vain, Leon thought, but curiosity prevailed.

“This is... Oh hey”
“Picked her up yesterday.”
“Picked up you mean from forest?”
“I looked at it this morning, and it was snowing, which is unusual, because suddenly the footprints of a single child in the woods started, and went all the way down here.”
“Transportation magic? It's not supposed to be used very often. Is this because of the malfunction?”
“Check it out especially hair”
“Black was it? Then this kid will be same as you from Plain?”
“I don't know, but dressing like a villager on purpose, clean hands and feet without a scratch, well-kept hair”
“Certainly, she's fluffy.”
“Don’t touch her”
“What the hell? All right. If you wanted to kill her, you would have done already”
“So”
“Is this a matter of an aristocrat's succession? Or is it a story about an abduction and a missing person?”
“Leon also think like that?”
“Then it will be better not touch, I guess.”
“Yeah, I do think you should”

The two of them looked at Shouko, who was sleeping idly.

“I can't believe there is someone who doesn't take care of their children. Hey, either you put her in church or you find a foster parent, you're more than welcome either way.”

When Leon said that, Falco remained silent. People who live on this continent have a long life and are strong. There are a lot of beasts called demons and they are much more dangerous than Shouko's world, but most of the injuries can be cured with a medicine called a potion. Healing magic also exists, though not as many can

Over the course of nearly two hundred years of their lives, some have met and parted ways, some have become married couples, others have lived alone. The child becomes independent at the age of 20 and spends a long period of his or her adult life away from his or her parents. Even though the injuries heal, some people die along the way.

Under such circumstances, it is normal for a child to be raised with care until he or she reaches the age of 20, and many people want to raise them even if they are not their own. Of course, it's not about spoiling them, it's about giving them the ability to be independent by the age of 20.

Among the four continental territories, this is the fiercest, most hunting-oriented country, and is called the Deep Forest. The south side is called the Plains for agriculture, the east side is called the lakes and marshes for learning, and magic, and the west side is called the Rock Cave for mining and lives under the respective lords.

There is no particular conflict between the countries. However, it is rumored that the Plains and Lakes, which are supposed to be calm and relatively low in demons, have an internal power struggle.

Rather than bringing it back, why not bring it up in a country that cares about children, even if it's a little rough?

And Falco thinks it would be okay for me at age 50.

“Wait, wait, a bachelor who's trying to take a child without a wife? Impossible”
“It's about 10 years old, isn't it, 10 more years? If I teach her a sword, she'll be on her own.”
“Can you able to tolerate a woman for 10 years? A lot of people want to learn swords from Falco, but look at her, she's never had a sword in her hand.”
“Eventually, if she's going to live in the Deep Forest, she's going to need a sword.”
“Excuse me, how about clothe and food?”
“For that, I leave it to other people”
“It's not like you can just...”
“I'll raise her.”
“Falco, why...”
“I picked her up so she is mine”

Could it be the warmth of sleeping together? I wonder if she is light enough to pick up and hold in one hand. I want to put her beside me. After 30 years of adulthood, I think it's time to be selfish. When Shouko heard it later, she thought it was a goddess correction, but she didn't blurt it out.

“No, you've been living a life of selfishness your whole life...”

Leon held his head. Falco is one of the best hunters in the Deep Forest. It wasn't all rough, either. Still, I never made a specific opponent, and if I had hunted as I pleased, I would have only gotten stronger, so I wouldn't have called it living like a role model. It's easy to get along as a single person, though.

“Anyway, let's respect her will, shall we?”
“I know”

And then Shouko woke up.

Despite being laughed at, the meal was over.

“Now, let's go with the introductions. I'm Falco. The hunter.”
“I'm Leon. I'm a guild courier.”
“Goho, oh, I am, Sho, goho, Shouko”

I ate a meal, but the cough still came on.

“I see, name is Shou”
“No, goho, Shoko”
“Then, Shou”

Falco said while looking up at the sky above him. No, listen to me. Shouko plunged into it in her mind. Whatever, I don’t care being called Shou.

“There must be a reason. You don't have to go into detail.”

What? You should hear it. It will be problematic to me if you don't ask.

“You have 3 options to choose”

Three options. Shou felt annoyed at the thought of the goddess. All those bastards.

“First option, go to church”

Hmmm-hmm, it's like an orphanage.

“Second option, go to foster parent”

Hoh, there are some people who are kind.

“Third option, live together with me”
So, this is the caretaker of my third wish. Shou frowned and looked at Falco. He has shaggy black hair. Light brown eyes. He has a reasonably well-groomed and wild complexion. Though his look doesn't seem to have anything to do with healing.

“Incidentally, you will get strong in sword if you together with me”
“Oh, I don't mind the sword.”

When Shou said that, Falco opened his eyes and froze. Then he kicked Leon's legs under the table as he was laughing next to him.

“So, Shou, how are you going to be live by yourself?”
“I want to learn about healing”
“Healing...do you have an aptitude for it!”
“What do you mean 'aptitude'?”
“Haven't you ever received a trial ceremony?”

Trial ceremony? I don't know. Shou tilted her head. Falco exchanged a glance with Leon and explained.

“As we all know, magic can be used for all kinds of things, large and small, but there aren't many that have a lot of magic. Also, there aren't many guys with an aptitude for healing. So it's a trial ceremony to find them early and help them get on their way, usually at age seven.”
I see. The only thing that bothers me more is,

“Can all of you use magic?”
“Don't tell me... you can't use”
“I have never use it”
“But baths and toilets and, uh, do you know how to use the toilet?”

I shook my head. I was taken in a hurry. In the patches? Yes, let the magic pass? Magic? I didn't know what it was, but I could use it when I touch it. I heard how much of an aristocrat you are, but Shou didn't care because she was too preoccupied with the toilet.

Yes, we're back to talking.

“For the time being, I understand that you are not unable to use magic.”
“Yes”
“So, if you haven’t done trial ceremony”
“yes”
“let’s start from there”

Shou nodded her head divinely. After all, the path of independence is at stake.

“If you have aptitude for healing”

Falco coughed up.

“You will need to learn in church...........”
“Is it okay to go there from home?”
“Home you said?”
“From Falco's place.”

Let this person take care of me until I can take care of myself. I wouldn't do sword training and this is something I don't like to do. Falco covered his face with one hand and turned his head to the side. Is that not good?

“I, I don’t mind, it is not like I care”
“Really?”

In front of a relieved, smiling Shou, Leon points at Falco, laughs out loud, and gets kicked again. Shou thought they were the ones who laughed a lot. I didn't notice that Falco was relieved and stroked his chest down.
